Entrance and Exit Policy for the 2020–21 Academic Year

For the health, safety and security of our entire community, access to Loyola Academy will be limited to two doors. These doors are numbered on the inside and outside of the school building.
 
They are:
  • Door #1 — Main entrance (west side of the school at the flag pole)
  • Door #6 — Piazza entrance (south side of school across from Sachs Stadium)
These doors will be open beginning at 6:45 a.m. for students to enter the building. The following procedures must be followed when entering the building:
  • Students, faculty and staff will join one of the screening lines and use hand sanitizer while waiting for screening. Social distance must be maintained. Guides will be marked on the floor.
  • Screeners will be present, holding up a sign with symptoms of COVID-19. Students, faculty and staff will be asked if they have any of the listed symptoms. Temperatures will be taken. If a temperature is normal AND the individual answers "NO" to having any of the listed symptoms, he or she will proceed to his or her classroom/office.
  • If a student, faculty or staff member answers "YES" to having any of the listed symptoms or if he or she has a temperature  of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, he or she will be sent to a designated area for additional screening. Additional screening will be conducted by one of  the school nurses.
  • Students must be wearing their student ID to enter the building once IDs have been issued.
As mandated by the State of Illinois, all individuals must wear a mask at all times while on campus, including the parking lot and outdoor areas. Masks must already be in place when entering the building.Three types of masks are allowed:
  • Loyola issued mask or those purchased from the LoyolaWear store.
  • Disposable masks. Disposable masks should be thrown away at the end of every school day.
  • Reusable masks. Reusable masks should be cleaned after every use.
