Public Transportation Options

Loyola is readily accessible by public transportation. Please note the various options outlined below:
 
  • Along Lake Michigan - Metra train — North Line to Downtown Wilmette. The Metra train has a stop in downtown Wilmette, where students can pick up the PACE #421 bus to Loyola.
  • From Chicago - The Metra train originates on Madison Street in downtown Chicago and makes stops at 2000 N. Ashland, 4600 N. Ravenswood, and 7000 N. Ravenswood in Rogers Park. It continues north with stops at Main Street, Davis Street, and Central Street in Evanston.
  • From the Wisconsin Border - The Metra train has stations in almost every northern suburb along Lake Michigan. For schedules and times, call Metra at 312.322.6777.
  • Chicago and Evanston (east) - Take the CTA train to the Linden train station in Wilmette. Students who have access to the CTA elevated train line that runs north to the Howard station in Rogers Park can transfer trains at the Howard station and board the Linden train to the Linden station in Wilmette. At the Linden station, students should board the PACE #421 bus, which will take them to Loyola Academy. For schedules and times, call the RTA at 312.836.7000.
  • Northwest Chicago - Take the PACE #423 bus, which starts at the Harlem CTA station on the comer of Harlem and Higgins, and makes four stops along Harlem (Touhy, Oakton, Dempster, Golf). Th intersection of Glenview Avenue and Waukegan Road is the last stop before arriving at Loyola. The first bus leaves at 6:44 a.m. and arrives at Loyola at 7:15 a.m. In the afternoon, the first bus leaves Loyola at 3:05 p.m. and the second bus leaves at 3:10 p.m. PACE'S phone number is 847.364.7223.
  • North Side of Chicago - Take the CTA #54A bus from Irving Park Road and Cicero Avenue. The CTA #54A bus travels north on Cicero (which becomes Skokie Boulevard) and continues to the Old Orchard Shopping Center at Skokie and Old Orchard Roads. At Old Orchard, students can transfer to the PACE #422 bus, which travels to Edens Plaza (Lake Avenue and Skokie Boulevard), three blocks east of Loyola Academy. Students can then walk to the Academy from Edens Plaza.

Students may purchase a monthly pass from PACE. This pass can be used on any PACE bus in the Chicagoland area.
