At Northwestern University: four-year football starter on offense and defense for the Wildcats...member of the 1948 Rose Bowl championship team...selected to play in the 1948 The Blue and The Gray All-Star game in Montgomery, AL...drafted in the 9th round of the 1948 NFL draft by the New York Giants...member of the Wildcat basketball team. At Saint Mary’s University: taught for 41 years...spent 25 years as a coach and athletic director, including 18 years as head basketball coach...member of the St. Mary’s University Hall of Fame...coached the St. Mary’s basketball team to a second place showing in the MIAC in 1954 and 1972...also coached tennis, golf, and softball.
