Parent Resources for Digital Safety and Healthy Interactions

Jesuit education consistently seeks to dialogue with the culture and society of its times. Operating as a one-to-one digital learning environment, this is an exciting time in education, as technology offers powerful learning tools to engage, enhance, and extend student learning. Recognizing the rights, responsibilities, and opportunities of living, learning, and working in an interconnected digital world are important skills for a Rambler’s overall development. Students are expected to engage in positive, safe, legal, and ethical behavior when using technology.

While at school, faculty and staff teach students about technology use and interacting with others. We also count on parents and guardians to continue the conversations at home. Since many of us parents did not ourselves grow up with powerful digital devices in our backpacks, it is important we learn from the emerging research and development on these topics. Below is a short collection of resources to guide families in navigating their students’ online and digital behaviors.
