University of Oklahoma

The University of Oklahoma is a public research university founded in 1890. Located in the city of Norman, just 20 minutes south of Oklahoma City, the undergraduate population is roughly 20,000. Students enjoy a major university experience in a private college atmosphere.

Student Life

  • Competes in the NCAA Division I–Big 12 Conference and holds 47 national championships, making athletics a big part of the OU experience 
  • “Sooner Schooner” is the official mascot of the athletic teams and a staple at OU football games.
