In a webinar for freshman, sophomore, and junior students and their parents, a panel of college admission representatives from three types of colleges (public, highly selective liberal arts, and Jesuit) will discuss how applications are evaluated at their institutions. The panel will review real transcript examples and provide a behind-the-scenes peek into an admissions committee.
Student-athletes and their parents/guardians are invited to attend an informational meeting in the Marillac Room to learn more about what it takes to succeed on and off the playing field in college. Speakers include members of the College Counseling Department, current seniors who are going to play a sport in college, and a current parent whose child will be a college athlete. No registration is required.
Loyola Academy is pleased to bring our sophomores, juniors and their parents to one of the largest private high school college fairs in the state of Illinois. With over 200 colleges typically in attendance, the evening presents a wonderful spectrum of college options to explore.
The transition to college involves change for students as well as parents. While colleges offer many services to assist students with a successful transition to college, it can be a transition for parents, too. Associate Dean of Students and Deputy Title IX Coordinator in the Office of the Dean of Students at Loyola University Samantha Maher Sheahan, along with Loyola Academy's College Counselors, will discuss resources and support for Rambler parents to help manage a changing relationship with your "adult" son or daughter.
