Essentially, Lent is an act of prayer. Spread out over 40 days, the church invites us to pray with Jesus on his journey to Calvary. Hopefully, our journey brings us closer to Christ and leaves us changed because of the encounter.
We invite Loyola parents, alumni and friends to join us for our annual Lenten retreat as we enter into this holy season. Each week we will reflect on the lives of different characters from the Passion story through a series of meditations, prayers and contemplative practices. What do their actions tell us about ourselves? What do these characters teach us about our own failings? What do they teach us about our own moments of courage and grace? What can we learn of God’s mercy by walking the road to Calvary with Christ this Lent?
Each session stands alone. Join us for one week, two weeks or all six weeks. Registration is not required.
Consider yourself at home with Lionel Bart's classic musical based on Charles Dickens' novel, Oliver Twist. The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance among a group of petty thieves and pickpockets but comes across trouble and gets caught for a crime he didn't commit. Come find out if Oliver's chances of discovering the true love of a family are ever fulfilled!
Tickets are $10 and are available for advanced purchase here.
This event is now cancelled. Please join us for other upcoming spiritual events including the Evening with Fr. McGrath on Thursday, February 28, and the weekly Lenten Retreat for Adults beginning Tuesday, March 5, and concluding on Tuesday, April 9.

Join the Principal’s Office for this important discussion specifically for parents about vaping, which has skyrocketed in popularity with youth. During this evening's presentation, co-presented by Andy Duran from LEAD, we will explore the short history of vape pens and e-cigarettes and discuss what trends we have seen at Loyola.
In addition to the presentation, LEAD will also provide an interactive exhibit. Attendees can tour a mock teenage bedroom containing over 100 items that may be indicative of risky behaviors such as substance abuse, underage drinking, eating disorders, sexual activity, suicide and more.
