Seamus Hardt '27

For Seamus Hardt ’27, Loyola Academy is a place where intellectual curiosity, faith, and service come together to challenge students to become their best selves. A member of the Loyola rowing program, Dumbach Scholars, National Honor Society, Latin Honor Society, and the Arrupe Service Program, Seamus embraces opportunities to learn both inside and outside the classroom. Drawn to Loyola by its Jesuit mission and commitment to service, he quickly found a community of students and teachers who are passionate about learning and making a difference. Whether rowing with teammates, serving at a local food pantry, or playing drums in a rock band, Seamus approaches each experience with energy, reflection, and a desire to grow.

Seamus credits Loyola with deepening both his intellectual and spiritual life. Experiences in AP Art History challenged him to see the world through different cultural perspectives, while conversations in English class with Mr. Van Howe encouraged him to wrestle with life's bigger questions and what it means to live fully and authentically. Through Kairos, school liturgies, and Campus Ministry, he has developed a stronger relationship with God and a deeper understanding of how faith can shape every aspect of life. For Seamus, being a Rambler means embracing challenges alongside others who share a commitment to learning, growth, and service. His journey reflects Loyola Academy's mission of forming thoughtful, compassionate, and intellectually curious leaders who seek to understand the world and make it better.
