On February 14, Loyola celebrated Ash Wednesday with an all school Mass in the West Gym. During the homily, Loyola Academy President Rev. Patrick E. McGrath, SJ, encouraged students to avoid hypocrisy and phoniness by embracing their true selves.
"Have you ever played a role because that's what the world wanted you to be?" asked Fr. McGrath. "Has the noise and chatter of the world influenced you? When we play a role, bit by bit we lose ourselves. Do the hard work of reflecting on who you are and who you're meant to be."
