Pat Corcoran '08 Manages Chance the Rapper, Winning Three Grammy Awards

Congratulations to Pat Corcoran '08 who manages Chicago-based artist and now three-time Grammy winner Chance the Rapper.
In December 2016, it was announced that Chance, whose real name is Chancelor Bennett, had scored a total of seven nominations for the 2017 Grammys for Coloring Book, his third album.

At the 59th Annual Grammy Awards February 12, Chance won the Grammy for Best New Artist, becoming the first artist to do so for a streaming-only album. He also took home the Grammy for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance for "No Problem," featuring Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz.

Not signed to any label, Chance is known for being a fully independent artist. "I know a lot of times I talk about my independence. People think that independent means you do it by yourself, but independence means freedom. I do it with these folks right here," Chance said in his first Grammy acceptance speech as he gestured to Corcoran and the team behind him.
