Five Ramblers Sign Letters of Intent to Play Football

On Wednesday, December 21, five Loyola Academy football players signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) for the early signing period. Congratulations to the following student-athletes and their parents!
Brooks Bahr, University of Michigan
“Brooks Bahr is a 6’ 6”, 275 pound dominant lineman. Brooks is versatile enough to excel at all positions on the defensive line. He also served as a powerful run blocking tight end. Brooks’s practice habits are outstanding. His work ethic and preparation are second to none. Brooks was a great team captain, leader, and an excellent teammate.” Pepte DiStaulo, defensive line coach

Jack Fitzgerald, Northwestern University
“Jack Fitzgerald is a three-year varsity starter. Jack was a team leader in every sense of the word. He was motivated and held his teammates to the highest of standards. As team captain, Jack led, most notably, by example. Jack is a throwback tight end who excelled as a physical blocker and caught passes with the same tenacity. Fitz prioritized team victories above all else.” Mike Herbert ’85, tight end coach

Panayiotis Mihalopoulos, Eastern Illinois University
“When our best offensive lineman was also the hardest worker, I knew we would have a great leader for the offensive line. Pan watched the most film, started our pre-practice drills, and was the strongest player for total weight in major lifts. Pan played through pain for the second half of our season. He held his teammates accountable and he was a dominant player.” Mike Kotowski ‘87, offensive line coach

Jack Parker, Western Michigan University
“Jack Parker grew and developed as a player and young man as well as any player I have ever coached. Jack had the ability to raise his level of play and tenacity to exceed that of his opponent. Simply put, Jack was a street fighter who never backed down. A two way starter, he sought every advantage to exploit his opponent; and he did it through a tireless commitment to winning. Jack was also a great teammate who also played defensive line at a championship level.” Mike Herbert ’85, tight end coach

Jake Stearney, Colgate University
“Jake Stearney’s preparation is his greatest asset. His brain sees everything the defense is throwing at him, and he always gets the offense in the best play to be successful. Jake has a command of the offense and the respect of his teammates. As team captain, Jake was an outstanding leader who gained the respect of the entire team. Jack always treated practice as he would a game, Jake exemplifies what it means to be a coach on the field.” Tyler Vradenburg, offensive coordinator/ QB coach
