Alumnae Share Insight at Chicago Scholars College Success Seminar

On Thursday, March 17, four Loyola Academy young alumnae spoke to seniors during the Chicago Scholar Program’s Senior Success Seminar. The seminar enabled recent graduates of the program to give advice and tips to current Loyola seniors about finding success in college.
“The speakers were so kind to give their time and advice to our current seniors,” says School Counselor Dr. Gabrielle Feldman. “They did a great job touching on such a wide range of topics from dealing with paying for school, to transitioning from high school academics, to time management, and more!”

The leading question for the seminar was “What do I wish I knew when I was a senior?” From there, students engaged in a Q&A with the alumnae and discussed time management, making friends in college, resources for success on campus and how to budget. Specific questions included:
  • How did you balance the first couple of months on campus away from home?
  • What should I know about roommates?
  • What was the hardest part of the transition from high school to college?
  • How can I be successful in college and find the resources that I need?
The seminar was organized by School Counselors Dr. Gabrielle Feldman and Ms. Rosanna Suh and Director of Diversity Mrs. Sarah Bennett. A very special thank you to Loyola alumnae Claudia Pensamiento ’19, Wosilat “Grace” Fatuga ’21, Jennifer Nguyen ’19 and Ezmeralda Lopez ’21 who attended via Zoom.
