The Classes of 1960 and 1961 Celebrate Their 60th Reunion

Members of the Classes of 1960 and 1961 gathered to celebrate their 60th Rambler Reunions on Saturday, September 18. Last year’s gathering restrictions prevented the Class of 1960 from celebrating in person, so this year both classes were invited to campus to mark the very special occasion of their 60th reunions.
The reunion weekend kicked off with a beautiful Mass in the Loyola Academy Chapel presided by Rev. Stanislaw Czarnecki, SJ. A memorial video was shown to remember the classmates who have passed away and their legacy was honored with a quiet moment during Mass. Special thanks to Martin J. “Marty” Lane ’61 for serving as a reader.

Following Mass, Vice President for Alumni and Network Engagement Marty Jennings ’98 welcomed alumni and their guests. He provided the group with an update of the many great things happening at Loyola—from athletics to faith formation and college readiness. His update highlighted Loyola’s strengths and gave a well-rounded look at the Academy that these two classes built the foundation for.

Next, a brunch reception was served outside in the Pasquesi Piazza courtyard where former classmates traded stories and laughs, recounting their days spent at the Academy in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Alumni enjoyed a beautiful morning with music, great food and lively conversation.

We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the Classes of 1960 and 1961 reunion committees and hope to continue the tradition of reunion  brunches with more classmates and classes next fall!
