Current Students and Alumni Team Up for Summer Service
Loyola Academy students partnered with West Side Coalition (WSC) for a special one-day summer service opportunity at Chicago Jesuit Academy, 5058 W. Jackson Blvd, on Sunday, July 25. WSC was founded by Rambler alumni Taquarius Earl '12, Imani Flowers '13, Martin Hunter '12 and Fredrick Reed '12, and evokes social action through educational and charitable efforts in one of the most highly concentrated areas of socioeconomic disparity, crime and violence in the City of Chicago.
Rambler volunteers, comprised of both current students and alumni, spent the day cleaning up the streets, engaging with residents from the community and participating in a discussion on issues relevant to the Austin area and greater Chicago community. For more information, contact Johnny Miller '15, campus minister and summer service coordinator, at jmiller@loy.org.
