Loyola Academy Announces Fallen Soldiers’ and Veterans’ Memorial Wall

Loyola Academy is pleased to announce plans to construct a memorial wall to honor alumni veterans from all branches of service. Notably, those who were killed in action or listed as missing in action during a recognized conflict will receive special recognition and be listed by name. The wall will also honor faculty and staff veterans.
“This initiative is long overdue and will bring to the forefront the bravery of Loyola Academy’s alumni service men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice,” says Vice President for Advancement Bob Miller, who is also a veteran. “This space will pay tribute and honor the alumni whose lives truly embody what it means to be women and men for others.”

Specifics, such as the memorial’s exact location on campus and overall design, are still being finalized, but school officials indicate that the memorial will be outdoors and feature quiet space for members of the Loyola community to reflect and pray. Fundraising is currently underway, and the school aims to begin construction on the memorial wall in Fall 2021.
