Alumni in California Gather to Reconnect and Network

On Tuesday, April 27, Loyola Academy Major Gifts Officer Les Seitzinger '88 and Vice President of Alumni and network Engagement Marty Jennings ’98 ventured west to visit with Rambler alumni and benefactors in sunny California.
First was a stop in downtown San Francisco. LA alumni gathered for a small event at Wingtip Club hosted by Alex Hartigan ’94 and had the opportunity to connect, network and hear updates about the great things going on at Loyola Academy, including the groundbreaking of the new $27 million Loyola Academy Center for the Performing Arts, home of the Leemputte Family Theater, the success of bringing students back to campus under Loyola’s hybrid in-person learning model and more.

Next, Seitzinger and Jennings traveled down to Los Angeles, where they met with California-based alumni from the Class of 1956, which is making preparations to celebrate its 65th reunion in the fall. Click here to learn more about class reunions.

Then, on Thursday, April 29, PJ Dwyer ’08 and our friends at Nosotros Tequila hosted an exclusive tequila tasting event at the company’s headquarters in Hermosa Beach. Rambler alumni enjoyed a first-hand look at the incredible growth and development of the brand and experienced the unique aspects of their growing product. At the end of the evening, Les and Marty shared updates about the happenings back at Lake and Laramie and showcased the many opportunities to get involved and support current students such as during Loyola’s live virtual Ramble (May 1, 2021) and beyond.

“We continue to find ways to bring Ramblers together from all over the country. Building our network in key hubs around the country will only aid in providing more unique learning opportunities for students by tapping into these global resources,“ says Jennings, who reports that, following these connections, alumni from California have already found the time to connect with Ramblers in the classrooms of Loyola’s screenwriting course and entrepreneurship studies.

“It is our hope that we can utilize this great network to impact the growth and development of our students while at Loyola,” he adds. “The pandemic has shown us that agility must be the key to enhancing the classroom experience. Utilizing technology has opened doors to opportunities to connect students to Rambler alumni all over the world.”

Special thanks to Alex Hartigan ’94, PJ Dwyer ’08, our friends at Nosotros Tequila, Tom Kneafsey ’56, John O’Keefe ’56 and the many Rambler alumni who gathered with us!
