Ramblers Rank among Top Students in National Online Quiz Competition

Loyola Academy’s Scholastic Bowl team recently joined over one hundred high school students from across the country and globe to compete online in Buzzword, a web-based academic competition with divisions for middle school, high school and college competitors. Players listen to recordings of questions being read and buzz in as soon as they think they know the answer. National Academic Quiz Tournaments created Buzzword to allow academic competitions to continue during social distancing.
The move to social distancing caused many changes for students, but the changes also brought about new opportunities to shine on an international stage:
  • Martha Santiago ’22 was the top scorer in the entire state in Season 4 Level C in the High School Division.
  • Mark Gonzalez ’22 placed the third in Illinois.
  • Madeline Jones ’22 placed sixth in Illinois.
Congratulations, Ramblers, on these impressive achievements!
