Alumni-Founded Organization Receives Grant from Chicago Bears

Devices 4 the Disabled (D4D), an organization that grew out of a friendship between Robert A. Shea ’72 and Edward J. Kane ’69 RIP, has been named one of the Chicago Bears’ 2020 Community All-Pros winners. D4D, whose mission is to ensure that people with disabilities have access to the medical equipment they need and the mobility they deserve, will received a $101,000 grant as part of the honor.

The Chicago Bears Community All-Pros initiate began last year in honor of the organization’s centennial season when the team recognized ten different local charities, nominated by fans, who each received a $100,000 Bears100 Community All-Pros grant, for a total of $1 million in donations.
