Math Team News

The Loyola Academy Mathletes competed in the last North Suburban Math League competition of the year on Thursday, March 5.  All divisions, which includes 56 schools, were present. Awards were given out, and the Ramblers had a great showing!
Jack Nugent ’20 was awarded 3rd place for the oral contests and was a finalist for the John Benson Award for his passion and dedication to mathematics.

Our sophomore and junior teams took first place in our division lead by another perfect sophomore contest from Peter Scheidt ’22. The overall team was awarded first place for our division.

Our sophomore team was also recognized for being 6th in the entire league, which means that they scored better than over 20 teams ranked higher.

Loyola Academy will be moving up another division for next year, making it our third division in three years. For now, the team is looking forward to the ICTM state contest in May at the University of Illinois in Springfield.
