Ash Wednesday Mass

On February 26, Loyola celebrated Ash Wednesday with an all school Mass in the West Gym. During the homily, Loyola Academy President Rev. Patrick E. McGrath, SJ, reminded students that, as ambassadors for Christ and messengers of hope, we are charged to bring Christ to the world—especially for those who walk at the margins and feel left out.
“What are we, as a community, showing the world?” Fr. McGrath asked. He encouraged students to reflect on how they spend the gift of their life. “Your life is the story you share with the world. The call is to give yourselves away with a generous, joyful, compassionate love in action.”

He gave three simple directives for this Lenten season: listen, simplify and share.
