Catherine O'Connor '20 Receives Merit Recognition from National YoungArts Foundation

The Fine Arts Department is proud to announce that Catherine O’Connor '20 was selected to receive merit recognition in the voice/popular category from the National YoungArts Foundation. Catherine independently submitted her application for the YoungArts' Signature Program, an award for emerging artists ages 15-18 from across the United States.
Catherine's merit award level recognizes her work as commendable by the panel and technically strong with a clear artistic point of view. She is now eligible to participate in YoungArts' regional programs, including YoungArts Miami in February, YoungArts Los Angeles in March and YoungArts New York in April.

Selected through a blind adjudication process conducted by an independent panel of highly accomplished artists, YoungArts winners receive valuable support, including financial awards of up to $10,000, professional development and educational experience working with renowned mentors, and performance and exhibition opportunities at some of the nation’s leading cultural institutions. Joining a 20,000-strong alumni community, Catherine will receive creative and professional development opportunities and connect with an extraordinarily rich network of peers.

The National YoungArts Foundation identifies the most accomplished young artists in the visual, literary and performing arts, and provides them with creative and professional development opportunities throughout their careers. Learn more at http://www.youngarts.org/about.
