Second Annual Cultural World Cup

Friday, October 18, marked the second annual Cultural World Cup, a soccer competition between Loyola’s cultural clubs. Approximately 70 students participated from the African-American Youth Group (AAYG), Asian Youth Group (AYG), Hispanic Youth Group (HYG) and the Polish Club. The event brought students together to develop camaraderie between different clubs and build opportunities for partnership and collaboration.
With a little friendly competition in the air, the students gathered to play three fifteen-minute, half-field round-robin matches. The winner of each game received three points or earned one point if they tied.

The championship was held between AAYG and HYG and came to an exciting end with AAYG winning on penalty kicks! After the games, the clubs shared a group picture and socialized over snacks. Hanging out and playing a game is a great chance for students to get to know one another, work together and have fun.

This wonderful spirit of appreciation for our cultural clubs will continue at our celebration of International Night on February 28 at 6 p.m. Save the date!
