Exploration and Discovery Abound at 2019 College Fair

On Monday, March 25, Loyola Academy's College Counseling Department hosted its annual College Fair. With over 175 colleges and universities in attendance, it is one of the largest private high school fairs in the state of Illinois.
This year, Loyola continued its use of StriveScan, which makes QR code scanning available for students and institutions. The QR codes eliminate the time-consuming process of filling out contact cards and enable students to focus their time and energy engaging college reps and getting important questions answered.

The top five colleges scanned at the fair were: Miami University (OH), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Villanova University, Marquette University and (tied) University of Dayton/University of Iowa.

553 students were scanning at Monday’s college fair—214 sophomores and 339 juniors. StriveScan estimates that the amount of time saved by students and colleges with StriveScan instead of handwriting contacts cards and typing them up is 74 hours.

Over 200 college representatives are expected to return to Loyola this fall to present to juniors and seniors during the school day.

In 2018, 99 percent of Loyola's senior class went on to four-year colleges and universities. Please view our School Profile for more information.
