Congratulations to the Boys’ Swimming and Diving team on their 12th place finish at the IHSA state meet on Saturday, February 23. A special congratulations to junior Luke Maurer who became a state champion in both the 200 free and the 100 free. Maurer broke the Loyola program record in the 200 free with a time of 136.45. The record stood from 1989 and was previously held by none other than his father, Erik Maurer ’89. Luke also broke the record in the 100 free with a time of 44.33. The previous record holder was again Erik Maurer ’89Junior Everet Andrew who took 2nd place in the 500 free and broke a LA program record.  
The 200 relay, which also included senior Ben Dukes and freshman Lachlan Andrew, took 12th (1:26.54). The 400 relay of Ben Dukes ’19, Everet Andrew ’20, Luke Maurer ’20 and freshman Demetrios Zemenides ’22 finished 12th (3:09.29). 
 
Congrats to the entire team who competed at the state meet and to Coach Hengelman and his staff!
