61st Annual President's Dinner Honors A Family for Others
Friday, November 2, was a great night for Loyola Academy as we celebrated the 61st annual President's Dinner. Approximately 650 members of the Loyola community—including a great showing of young alumni, current and graduate parents, faculty, staff and friends—gathered at Wintrust's Grand Banking Hall in downtown Chicago to honor the Barbara and Robert P. Perkaus Jr. '54 Family, recipients of the Rev. Daniel A. Lord, SJ, Award for Distinguished Service in the Cause of Youth.
Loyola Academy Presents “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” Fall Play
Loyola Academy's Department of Performing Arts and Thespian Troupe 4729 performed “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on November 1–4. Loved by many all over the world, love and mischief, mistaken identity, fairies and magic abound in this classic farce, one of William Shakespeare's greatest and most beloved comedies.
In September, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation named seven Loyola Academy students National Merit semifinalists. The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
With a generous lead gift to support the Second Century Campaign Theater Initiative, Ellen S. and Peter G. Leemputte ’75 are hoping to inspire others to support the development of a new theater for the performing arts at Loyola Academy.
