Freshman Orientation

Monday, August 20, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday, August 21, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In addition to Sunday evening’s programming, there will be two full days of preparation for 9th grade. The goal is to ease the transition to freshman year, build confidence and create a bond among the Class of 2022.

For the first two days, students will report to a classroom based on their Freshman Formation class period and counselor (additional information will be sent later in the summer). Lunch will be provided both days. If your student has a food allergy that must be accommodated, please email Quest General Manager James Chantanasombut at jchant@questfms.com to request an alternative lunch.

The only school supplies freshmen will need for Monday and Tuesday is their iPad. Students do not need to bring pens or paper. If students are participating in activities after Freshman Orientation Days, it is imperative that they secure the iPad in their locker. Please visit the FAQ section on the One-to-One web page for frequently asked questions about iPad usage and Loyola's One-to-One program.

On Monday, August 20, in addition to ice breakers and academic prep, our newest Ramblers will walk through their class schedules, meet their teachers during 10-minute class periods and have their ID photos taken. Freshmen are expected to be in standard LA dress code. Please visit the Dean's Office web page for more information about our dress code.

On Tuesday, August 21, freshmen will participate in iPad training and compete in Freshman Field Day. Students should wear athletic attire (shorts or sweatpants) and their House t-shirt for the Field Day competition. House t-shirts will be issued to all 9th graders on Monday, August 20.

All incoming freshmen are required to attend this orientation session. If you have any questions, please contact Assistant Principal for Student Services Charles Heintz at cheintz@loy.org.

Transportation: The PACE bus will be running during Freshman Orientation Days. The bus will pick up students at the front of the school after the 2:00 p.m. dismissal on August 20 and August 21.
