How would you as a parent respond if your child told you their friend might be thinking about suicide? Join the SOS Signs of Suicide team to learn about your important role as a parent in youth suicide prevention. This 30-minute webinar for high school parents will educate them on the risk factors and warning signs of depression and suicide and how to ACT (Acknowledge, Care, Tell) if you are concerned about a young person in your life. The webinar will also discuss the SOS program and the basics of school-based suicide prevention. At the end, parents will have the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session.

Family Action Network (FAN) is proud to welcome back Nancy Koehn, Ph.D., one of our most compelling speakers on the topic of crisis leadership. Her 2017 FAN talk on her book Forged in Crisis: The Power of Courageous Leadership in Turbulent Times was riveting, dynamic, and keenly astute, and it stirred the hearts and minds of those present. Prof. Koehn also appeared at a July 2020 FAN webinar that was a powerful, incisive exploration of managing self and others during a pandemic.
Information regarding this event will be emailed to you. Please contact Vice President of Alumni and Network Engagement Marty Jennings '98 at mjennings@loy.org for further information.
The principles of sacramentality, mediation, and communion animate the life of the Catholic Church. In short, Catholics believe the world is essentially good, that God is truly present and active in our world, and that God reaches us through the communities in which we live. Catholicism's understanding and practical commitment to these principles distinguishes it from other Christian Churches. Whether you are Catholic or non-Catholic, new to Loyola Academy or have been with us for years, join us for this virtual event to learn more about these dynamic principles. Registration is required.

Born in 1491 into a noble Basque family and raised to be a soldier and courtier, Ignatius' life took a dramatic turn when he was wounded in the battle of Pamplona. Convalescing in his family's castle, time and circumstance saw God stir up something new in Ignatius. He found himself drawn away from the romantic ideas of chivalry and knighthood and dreaming of a life spent in the service of God. Join us for this virtual event to learn more about this soldier, pilgrim and saint. We will explore his vision of life, work and love and examine how this vision might assist us in ordering and shaping our own lives. Registration is required.
