The transition to college involves change for students as well as parents. While colleges offer many services to assist students with a successful transition to college, it can be a transition for parents, too. We will discuss Loyola resources and support for Rambler parents to help manage a changing relationship with your “adult” son or daughter.
Join members of the Principal's Office and Dr. Matthew Pietrafetta, founder of Academic Approach, for a presentation that will help parents interpret the Academic Approach test results and acquire a deeper understanding of both the construct and the content of the ACT.
All Ramblers are invited to share personal, prayerful time with God by participating in the ancient practice of Eucharistic Adoration. We will offer this opportunity every first Friday of the month during the school year, from 7:40 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the chapel will be reserved for exposition of the Eucharist and for anyone desiring silent prayer.
You can stop in the Chapel for as little or as much time as you like. All you need to bring is your desire to be with God. You can also bring a journal, book or other reflection materials if you wish. Other prayer resources will also be available for your use. For more information, please click here.
The College Counseling Department has partnered with the Principal’s Office for this presentation, designed especially for parents, to offer an authentic view of the college admissions process. College counselors and current students—fresh from the experience—will share their reflections, insights and advice.

Kevin Wood, LA voice teacher/collaborative accompanist, is thrilled to announce the return of Lennie Watts, NYC-based director/singer/teach to LA! On May 16–17, ten selected students from the LA voice studios will work in a Master Class setting with Mr. Watts and Beckie Menzie, a Chicago-based cabaret artist/music director. The two days of coaching will culminate in a one-night-only performance at The Rock House in Glenview.
All are invited to attend this non-ticketed event. In addition to the students, the teaching staff will entertain as well.
Parents and graduates are invited to Mass in the East Gym followed by brunch in the West Gym. This event provides a wonderful opportunity for graduates and their parents to pray together and to socialize as the Loyola Academy family. This event is only for the graduate and his/her parents, whereas graduation offers an opportunity for additional family members to join in the celebration.
Gently used current LA uniform items will be collected.
