Dear Rambler Community,

As we anticipate a return to our hybrid learning model next week, I write to share with you several important updates and reminders to help keep our school community safe and healthy. These guidelines were first shared via email by School Nurse Corry Braasch on November 20, and I ask that you please review that email in its entirety before sending your Ramblers back to campus. Families that need to report a positive case or COVID exposure are asked to do so before Monday.

When reporting, we ask that you email the information to cbraasch@loy.org and follow the guidelines below:

The health of Loyola students, faculty, and staff remains our top priority. We will continue to enforce the successful mitigation efforts that have helped us achieve 50% capacity this semester (i.e. required masks, social distancing, hand washing and thorough cleaning). In addition, please note the following measures that have been implemented over our short break:
  • The filters on all HEPA air filters in classrooms and offices throughout the building have been replaced.
  • Our HVAC and air purification systems have been cleaned and disinfected.
  • The entire campus is scheduled for an additional deep cleaning before students return.
I want to recognize the efforts our school community has taken to preserve and maximize in-person learning. Thank you to the many families that have communicated a variety of situations and questions with our nursing staff. Each piece of information has helped us become better at responding to the crisis at hand. Your open communication is vital to our ability to continue safe in-person learning on our hybrid model.

Our teachers are incredible and they are eager to welcome your Ramblers back to campus to finish this first semester on a positive note. In order to safely do so, now is not the time to let our guard down. Let us recommit to our personal accountability and shared responsibility to do our part and remember these three simple but effective measures: wash your hands, wear a mask, keep your distance.

I am grateful to you for your continued partnership and support.

Sincerely,
Patrick E. McGrath, SJ
President
