Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

As communicated yesterday, our medical team has been working to assess the spread of COVID-19 in our community. While none of the cases have been linked to in-person instruction, we now believe off-campus social exposures are greater than first reported. Therefore, based on this data and recommendations from our health experts, I believe it is in the best interest of our students, faculty and staff to suspend in-person classes for the next two weeks. We aim to resume our Hybrid Schedule on Tuesday, September 8.

Tomorrow, August 24, Loyola will transition to our E-Learning Schedule. All students will follow their M-Day schedule remotely. 4th period will be the first class of the day, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The school day will conclude at 2:05 p.m. Students should check OnCampus course pages by 9:00 a.m. for Zoom links and academic expectations in the Assignment Center. Monday's schedule is below.

This decision was not made lightly, and it is made with the health and safety of our entire school community in mind. In-person learning is still a priority. It cannot exist without everyone's cooperation. The next two weeks will be an opportunity for us to demonstrate that we can increase our personal responsibility and minimize our exposure risks.

It is imperative that you continue to share any COVID-19 related exposures and positive test results with our school nurse, Mrs. Corry Braasch at cbraasch@loy.org.

As we move forward, we will continue to assess the situation and share updates with our families as we learn more. Information about the status of athletic teams and cocurricular programming will be provided by coaches and moderators.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,
Charlie Heintz
Principal
