Health & Wellness

Loyola Academy views physical and mental health as integral to the intellectual and spiritual development of our students. Our Health & Wellness Program is dedicated to maintaining and improving the overall health of students through a variety of educational, counseling and wellness programs. Our Wellness Program includes both individual and group guidance.

Student Support Groups

The following is a list of support groups offered to Loyola Academy students through our Health & Wellness Program. Groups are open all year long, unless otherwise noted. Interested students should complete our Support Group Sign-up Form.

  • Adoption Group

    for students who have been adopted and want to share their feelings and experiences with other adopted students
  • Alcohol/Substance Abuse Group

    will help students deal with the stress of family members and/or close friends that are addicted to alcohol and/or other drugs
  • Anxiety Support Group

    for students who have suffered with an intense level of anxiety over a long period of time
  • Body Image Group

    will help students explore their attitudes, behavior and emotions concerning body image
  • Chronic Disease Support Group

    for students who have been diagnosed with a chronic illness such as Crohn’s Disease or Diabetes and would benefit from the support of a group
  • Concussion Support Group

    for students who have been diagnosed with a concussion either in the past or currently
  • Depression Support Group

    for students who have suffered with an intense level of depression over a long period of time
  • Divorced Parents

    for students whose family has struggled because parents have divorced
  • Eating Disorders Group

    for students who are struggling with disordered eating, bulimia, anorexia, laxative abuse or excessive exercise
  • Grief Group

    for students who have suffered with the loss of a family member/close friend
  • Identity Support Group

    for both gay and heterosexual students who are having concerns regarding sexuality. Students who have loved ones who are going through sexuality issues are also welcome to join.
  • Transfer Student Support Group

    will help students who have transferred to Loyola with their adjustment. This group is available during 1st semester only.
