Ioanna "Yianna" Drossos '27

For Yianna Drossos ’27, Loyola Academy is a community where leadership, service, and excellence go hand in hand. A leader in the classroom, on the field, and throughout the school community, Yianna serves as Student Council President, DECA President, Hellenic Club President, Women in STEAM President, and Varsity Flag Football Captain, while also participating in lacrosse, Clavius Scholars, Hope Squad, Arrupe, and numerous service organizations. Whether competing internationally as captain of her Theater on Ice team, organizing service initiatives, or mentoring younger students, Yianna approaches every opportunity with energy, purpose, and a commitment to helping others succeed.

Yianna credits Loyola’s faculty and staff with helping her discover the kind of leader she is called to be—one who leads with empathy, authenticity, and a deep sense of responsibility to others. Inspired by mentors such as Mrs. Wick and strengthened by experiences like Kairos, service leadership, and the Clavius Scholars Program, she has learned that true leadership is rooted in community and service rather than recognition. Guided by Loyola’s Jesuit mission, Yianna strives to be a woman for others by uplifting those around her and creating opportunities for others to grow and thrive. Her journey reflects Loyola Academy’s commitment to forming intellectually curious, compassionate, and courageous leaders prepared to make a meaningful impact in the world.
