Valentina DiMartino ’27

For Valentina DiMartino ’27, Loyola Academy has been a place of belonging, growth, and discovery. Arriving from Highland Park without many classmates from her grade school, she quickly found a welcoming community where friendships formed naturally and students were encouraged to be themselves. Through her involvement in O’Neill’s, Loyola’s Hispanic heritage club, and the theater program, Valentina has built meaningful relationships while sharing her own experiences and learning from others. She credits Loyola’s strong sense of community with helping her become more confident, open-minded, and willing to step beyond her comfort zone.

Valentina believes Loyola’s Jesuit mission is reflected in the way students and faculty genuinely care for one another and encourage service, leadership, and personal growth. Whether participating in service opportunities, exploring issues of faith and justice in the classroom, or mentoring younger students in the theater program, she has learned the importance of using her gifts in service to others. As a student leader in technical theater, she especially enjoys helping younger Ramblers discover their own talents and passions. Valentina’s journey reflects Loyola Academy’s commitment to forming women and men for others—individuals who lead with compassion, embrace diversity of thought and experience, and help build a stronger community for everyone.
