Julia Hagen '14
For alumna Julia Hagen ’14, art is about more than painting cityscapes—it is about storytelling, community, and finding beauty in everyday places. A full-time painter whose work celebrates iconic Chicago hot dog stands and neighborhood landmarks, Hagen returned to Loyola Academy to share her creative journey with students during her exhibit, Chicagoland, at the McGrath Family Performing Arts Center. Through her vibrant work and thoughtful reflections, she encouraged Ramblers to embrace curiosity, follow what brings them joy, and recognize the power of art to create empathy and connection. By capturing the stories behind familiar spaces, Hagen continues to inspire others to see the world with greater imagination, appreciation, and heart.
