Ben Olsen ’26

For Ben Olsen ’26 of Chicago, Loyola Academy was a place where curiosity, creativity, and community came together. A Dumbach Scholars student leader involved in Arrupe, Classics Club, theater, and National Honor Society, Ben embraced each opportunity with enthusiasm and gratitude. Whether presenting on Latin pedagogy at a statewide academic conference, competing in Certamen, or guiding younger students through the Art Institute of Chicago as part of a Dumbach Scholars service experience, Ben approached learning not simply as an academic pursuit, but as a way to connect with and inspire others.

Ben’s experiences at Loyola strengthened his desire to become a teacher himself. Inspired by the encouragement of Loyola’s faculty and the Jesuit commitment to forming the whole person, he hopes to help future students discover their own passions and confidence. Following graduation, Ben will attend University of Michigan, where he plans to study Secondary Education (English Track). His journey reflects Loyola Academy’s mission of forming women and men for others—individuals who lead with intellectual curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to sharing their gifts in service of the greater good.
