Loyola Academy Presents: "Romeo & Juliet"

Loyola Academy Performing Arts and Thespian Troupe 4729 performed Romeo & Juliet to delighted audiences on November 10 through 12, with a special matinee for grade school students on Friday, November 10. One of Shakespeare's most popular works, the play follows star-crossed lovers from rival houses, Romeo and Juliet, and their tragic romance.
"While the story of Juliet and her Romeo is a tragedy, the play is not about death or tragedy, alone. Shakespeare spends much more time celebrating the love of Romeo and Juliet than he does wallowing in their death; in this spirit, I chose to invite Romeo and Juliet to tell the story in their words. There is hope in their enduring love. There is a future in that love, and Shakespeare knew that where there is love, there is hope," explained Theater Teacher Geoffrey Arndt in the show's program.

Congratulations to the cast, crew, and production staff who worked tirelessly to bring this timeless story to the Loyola community!
