St. Ignatius St. Ignatius began his life as a soldier in the Spanish army. During battle against France, his leg was wounded by a cannonball. After recuperating, he dedicated his life to the service of Christ.

Loyola Academy participates in 26 different sports, offering students a chance to play on over 50 different teams. From traditional sports like baseball, basketball, and football to club sports like crew, lacrosse, and sailing, Loyola teams continue a tradition of athletic excellence.
In 2003, we opened our 60-acre Munz Campus as a further investment in our student athletes. The site now has fields for baseball, softball, lacrosse, field hockey, soccer as well as a cross country path.
