What does Loyola look for in an applicant?
The admissions committee looks at a variety of personality, achievement and aptitude factors to evaluate a student's demonstrated ability to succeed in a competitive college preparatory
environment. Loyola typically accepts students who test in the range of 50th percentile and above on nationally normed junior high tests. An applicant's junior high academic and disciplinary
record significantly influence our decision on acceptance.
Loyola is
first and foremost a Catholic School. However, Loyola actively seeks applicants who promote and produce Gospel values as lived by Jesus Christ no matter
what the applicant's religious faith may be.
What criteria are used to select Loyola Freshmen?
The admissions committee focuses on three major areas:
an applicant's scores from our entrance exam
an applicant's 7th and 8th grade report cards and disciplinary reecord
an applicant's scores from standardized testing during 7th grade.
Other factors which may be considered include legacy relationships, cocurricular activities, and elementary school attended.
